Description
Lecithin, named Lecithos in Greek, is a group of yellowish brown oily substances present in animal or plant tissues and egg yolks. The composition include phosphate, choline, fatty acids, glycerin, glycolipids, triglyceride and phospholipids. It is an important component of cell membrane, alveolar surfactant, lipoprotein and bile; it is also the source of lipid messenger such as lysophosphatidylcholine, phosphatidic acid, diacylglycerol, lysophosphatidic acid and arachidonic acid. Known as the "third nutrient" alongside proteins and vitamins.
Lecithin, as a functional healthy food, the main component--choline, which is an essential nutrient for the human body every day. Lecithin has the function of emulsifying and breaking down fats, enhancing blood circulation, improving serum quality, and clearing peroxides.
